What Kind Of Post-Op Bra Do I Need?

A compression belt is a type of fabric that can be worn over the breasts to prevent them from moving too much. This is an option that can be recommended after breast augmentation. Before you undergo any type of surgery, speak with your surgeon about if this is right for you.

One of the most important factors to keep in mind when it comes to choosing a compression belt is the fabric's color. While this won't affect how it functions, it's important to consider a darker shade as blood or fluid stains may occur after your operation. Dark colors are more easily concealed compared to lighter ones.

For women who want to wear a compression garment after breast surgery, Coobie post-operative bra are made to allow for swelling, so choose one that's in your cup size. How To Choose The Right Postsurgery Bra?

After surgery, it's important to choose the right bra for your body. There are various features to consider when it comes to choosing one.

Most post-operation bras do not have wires. This means that they do not cut into your skin. If you are planning on wearing a prosthesis following your surgery, you should consider a bra with pockets.

The type of soft fabrics that you choose should help you feel comfortable. You should avoid using stiff and tough materials. Instead, choose high-quality materials that are stretchy.

Post-operation bras should have adjustable closures and straps. These will allow you to adjust them from the front without having to stretch or twist them. A bra that has a long band will feel more comfortable and less restrictive than one that has a short band.

The size of the bra that you will need is one of the most challenging factors to predict. You may want to consult your doctor about the swelling that you may experience after the procedure. Ask your doctor to estimate the size of your bra after the procedure if you're undergoing a reduction or augmentation.

Considerations:

Received my two Coobie Comfort bras, fairly quickly. Ordered two in size large, as I'm only a few months post surgery and I didn't want anything restrictive on my chest or rib cage. Would have given a 5 star review but one bra fit and the other was too large. It almost appeared as if it had been tried on and returned. Seemed stretched out, and like some of the other reviewers stated the shoulder straps were too long. On the plus side, Coobie was great with the return. The sent a new one (size large) within about a week, free of charge. Advised me not to return the one that was misfit but to give it to someone else. Which I did. I gave it to my daughter who is a little bigger than I am. I've already washed both bras. Washed on a gentle cycle in a garment bag and then hung them up to dry. So far, so good. Pre-surgery I wore a 34-36 C.
